Comparing something to any other thing is just a way to show similarities, differences, and equivalencies for illustrative purposes. IE: My computer is much like Hitler... in that it is made of atoms.
Denying people rights because of <where they were born/when/from whom> is a lot like the Nazi regime... in that arbitrary differences mandate an individual's rights.
If Godwin's law means only that comparing A to B does not make either A or B any different in nature: then i agree to the point. Who cares wether we are comparing A to Hitler or to my left ankle... it still doesn't change A
