E, that's brutal. People are dicks, and anonymity of the internet has the capacity to turn them into a lynchmob in a flash.
I might get heat for this, but I think good forum or chat trolling is hilarious. Obviously shit that crosses over into people's real lives is crossing the line, and things like spamming are stupid.
I see trolling as the "prank call" of the information age: ease into a conversation, make a ridiculous claim, stand by it unwaveringly, use your logic and intuition to shoot down weak counterpoints and enrage people...
I think we're all going by different definitions here, but I think the actual act of trolling (or flame-baiting, etc), when done right, is pretty funny. Spamming and any otherwise malicious acts online aren't funny.
