And what defining moment makes one an instant atheist?

Well I will tell you mine. I was losing religion for a while and really thinking on it. But still believed in god.

Then one day I was at work and an atheist made a quip about did I really believe in it.

I had this shocking realization, sat down, and said quietly, "No. I don't".

That was about nine years ago. But it was the exact instant I became an atheist.
