It's kind of like claiming that if the earth was more than a few months old, all the rivers would have run dry by now.
Sometimes I get the impression that some fundamentalists believe that having the correct belief (as they see it) about God, makes all other knowledge unnecessary. We seem so silly to them working so hard to garner small crumbs of 'man's knowledge' when merely by turning both of their palms up in prayer, swaying gently and turning it all over to God .. they are actually so much smarter. Poor stupid bastards. They've pretty near made themselves immune to knowledge.
