I celebrate incremental progress because I understand the architecture of our government keeps the status quo entrenched. There is no easy road to progress short of a radical restructuring of our entire government. In the meantime, inching the ball forward while preventing those who serve the 1% from pushing us further into serfdom seems worth doing to me.
Which would be great except for the fact that for each step of progress in ares like gay rights there has been equal, if not more, regress in areas like individual liberty, due process and general authoritarianism.
