If you allow it for one reason, what's your justification for not allowing it for another? Why is one woman deserving of this choice but another, not? It no longer is about the fetus the moment you say you allow abortion in cases of rape/or whatever it is you allow it for. It's about something else. Because you're saying one woman deserves to suffer through pregnancy and 18-20 years of active motherhood. Unless she's raped than she deserves to get an abortion if she wants one.You don't understand it? I do. I understand it perfectly. It's not about the foetus at all. It was never about the foetus. It is, and always has been, about punishment. "You're a dirty slag who managed to get knocked up all by herself and now you must pay for it for the rest of your life!"
?
The whole "taking responsibility" shit is an even bigger pile of bollocks. If you're too young, too poor, too emotionally unstable, or whatever, to raise a child properly; Keeping the baby is the least responsible thing you could possibly do if you got pregnant. Seriously. Who the fuck thought that one up?
And adoption... What a cunt of a thing that argument is. So yeah, a woman still has to suffer the physical, emotional and psychological effects of pregnancy, childbirth, and the after effects of both... Then she gives the kid over to strangers like it's an unwanted christmas gift she's just flogged on eBay... Then gets to spend the rest of her life remembering that her child is out there somewhere because stupid biology does that to us. Meanwhile, the child has to grow up with the knowledge that their own mother didn't want them, and they were only born because someone forced her to have them, and they will never be loved the way a real biological parent is supposed to love them. What a great situation that is. Let's encourage that shit.
