I mean, everything has to come from somewhere right? As in, you can produce something from nothing, because you had nothing to work with to start with. This is what my common says tells me anyway

Expanded, not exploded. Common misconception.
Nobody knows. It may have always existed. There is a hypothesis that it indeed could have come from "nothing" (google Dr. Lawrence Krauss, he has an excellent video on youtube). There are a number of other competing hypotheses with varying degrees of plausibility and theoretical support.
At the end of the day, the best answer we have is "We don't know."
