Heck, were I part of that girl's family or her boyfriend, I'd probably say something like "kill them... or better... let me kill them in the most painful and slow way imaginable!

Of course, we're working under the assumption that there is more than sufficient evidence that proves beyond any doubt that these people did commit that crime...
Imagine there is room for doubt... Imagine you, as a judge, sentence these people for death.... and a few days, months, or years later new evidence comes up and...ooops.... you got the wrong blokes... what then?
I prefer to err on the side of caution.
