I find it odd that you would think two separate words are even remotely synonymous, that's one helluva leap.
Catfish, may I introduce you to a wonderful word, that you apparently don't understand at all, called "and." The word and is used to connect two parts of a sentence, indicating that they are to be taken jointly. For example, you are rude and mistaken. See how that works?
So when the verse calls unbelievers "deceivers and antichrists," it doesn't mean that they are just deceivers. I imagine it must have been terribly confusing for you, seeing that strange, arcane symbol of three letters; it's understandable that you'd think it meant to disconnect the term deceiver from the term antichrist.
But actually, the two are meant to be connected; the bible is actually calling guys like me two things, in that verse. Isn't that lovely?
