When I tell a Christian that I used to be Christian but left the religion years ago, I often get "Then you never were a REAL Christian."
The "No True Scotsman" fallacy has to be the personal favorite of most of the fundies I've met in my life.
I respond to this stupid argument with "How you wish someone would behave does not change the thoughts in their head".
Atheists do this too. They will point to other atheists and say "They make me look bad when they behave that way".
I say, no, it doesn't make you look bad, it makes them look bad. Atheists like any other label, ultimately we are still individuals first.
Catholics, Protestants and Baptists, liberal and conservative all have the same belief in Jesus as their core position. Sunnis and Shiites BOTH believe in the god Allah. And every atheist, lacks a belief in a god or gods.
