Also, if you are thinking of having children with someone, smoking women are a problem. If they can't quit during the pregnancy, that's bad. If either Mom or Dad keeps smoking after children happen, then they're seriously raising the risk of dying young and leaving the other partner. I know a couple right now who are seriously on the outs because she quit smoking during her pregnancy and has totally quit- and he's still doing it, and she's furious that he's doing something she can't do because of THEIR kids, and that he's raising his risks of screwing up all of their lives with a dangerous behavior. It's a real problem in an otherwise great marriage.
I enable him sometimes and then I feel really bad about it.
I'm not a fan of smoking, not at all. Saying that, though, when I was an undergraduate I was sleeping with this girl who used to smoke all the time, and it didn't bother me at all. In fact, her lighting up after sex was kind of a turn on for me for some reason.
