I don't allow theists to use "infinite vs finite" to fill in the gap with their imaginary sky daddy.
Science doesn't require a god of the gaps either way.
If one can accept that a hurricane does not need an ocean god to cause it, then the universe and what may or may not have caused it would not require a god as a cause either.
Believers simply do not want to face that god claims are merely childish reflections of their own wishful thinking and narcissism.
The truth is that the universe is a thing, like a tornado or hurricane. It does what it does without any hand and moves only on natural law.
