There are fossilized trees standing vertically through tens of thousands of years of sedimentary layers, how is that possible, it ain't.

No, it isn't impossible.

To demonstrate - Clear Lake in Oregon, the headwaters of the McKenzie river. There are trees in this lake that are preserved, many still standing upright, despite being submerged under water for many thousands of years.

I happen to have photographs of those preserved trees that I personally took while scuba diving in that lake three or four years ago.
