So this might be the 'Foreign Policy' that my friend was talking about??
The US has had a long long history of meddling in affairs of other countries when they do not support their own ideologies. The Iran/Iraq war, Israel, Cambodia, Vietnam, Cuba, and the list goes on and on. Usually it is confined to financial aid or weapons delivery, sometimes it resulted in covert operations with various successrates (Like the bay of pigs invasion), and sometimes it escalated into a full scale war. Not every country and/or government is pleased with this kind of behaviour.
