What's up with the dead pig? Are animals now getting it?

And I totally should have see a contagion coming. What's the disease, and how are they going to deal with this? The buddy system? Quarantine?

My best guess is that the writers finally keyed in onto what I've been thinking from season one, which is:
With all the blood that splatters all over the characters every time they kill, someone would HAVE to get some blood in the mouth. I mean these guys have literally had their faces soaked in blood.

Just a theory of course.
