As a writer/pervert, and often intersection of the two, that book pisses me off on so many levels, and just about prompts me to write my own rebuttal every damn day.

But seriously, why not go for it? FSoG is the low water mark of the genre, nothing can be more crass and shittier, so given at least a little effort and yours could be a decent book. (With a little bit more effort, it will be bloody brilliant, I think.) If you write it, I'll buy and read it
(And then I could take up my cousin's advice and read some Marquis de Sade and forget that I ever read such a shitty book.)
