Ayaan Hirsi Ali left Islam, and got death threats for doing such. She grew up in a very oppressive culture, escaped it, and when she made a documentary condemning the treatment she got growing up, her film maker friend was STABBED TO DEATH, with a knife stuck in his chest, with a note on it saying "YOU'RE NEXT", meaning Ayaan.
You are taking one women trying to treat her as an example, when we are talking about an over all climate. The over all climate in the east is oppressive to women, even in more secular Morocco, a girl committed suicide for being sentence by a court to MARRY HER RAPIST! You expect us to value a culture that forces a victim to marry the asshole who assaulted her?
If we were to talk the women in the you posted, we'd say the same to her. That is just her, that does not represent the majority of women in Islam nor the sexist attitudes most men in Islam have.
Malala was SHOT in the head, by sexist bigoted pigs merely for wanting an education.
What also sickens me, is that shortly after 9/11 I saw a Muslim women walking through a parking lot. If it were not for the 19 thugs who murdered 3,000 people, I wouldn't have had to see the needless fear in her eyes when I approached her to tell her most Americans do not blame all Muslims.
Don't try to convince us of shit, ACTIONS speak louder than words. You want us to back off, then call out your Islamic nutcases first. Work to get the middle east up to par with the secular west. THAT is how you can help us AND help humanity in general.
but what I mean is that the view about Muslim women is very exaggerated by western media
Women in Islam are treated differently not less than men
The hell it is, I have given you THREE real examples of girls/women being oppressed. One having her friend murdered, one getting shot, and another committing suicide. Don't tell me Islam values women when these things happen. Saudi Arabia doesn't allow their women to drive cars. FUCK OFF.
She wears a religious scarf that is rooted in sexism forced modesty by a religion that tells her she has no choice. Her not condoning what other Muslims do, does not mean there is not a problem.
Sexism in Islam is the majority climate and it is based on a very sexist book. Christianity is just as sexist, but it has had a secular leash on it for 200 years which is why the west isn't as fucked up as the east is.
All she proves is that people change their positions.
Seriously, do you think, or does she think she will burn in hell if she does not cover her head? How is she responsible for wearing that when men should simply be taught to let them think for themselves and men should keep their fucking hands to themselves no matter if she wears it or not?
It is just a fucking superstition, no different than a Yamaka. Does a man really think if they don't wear it their pricks will magically fall off?
Basing your morality on goat hearding books is fucking stupid, it is nothing but a placebo. She can be modest for her own reasons and doesn't need men or a sexist religion to do so. Men don't need books of myth to tell them what diets to have, or what magic hats will prevent them from burning in a fictional hell.
Ayaan Hersi Ali left Islam, her vagina didn't fall off. She doesn't cover her head to placate sexist pigs.
