Everyone makes mistakes, but believing in divine forgiveness is the simple way to ease your conscience without having to actually rectify the problems you've caused.
I mean, who cares if you ran over someone's dog with your car and sped away? Jesus forgives you, and that's all that matters.
The one problem with your assessment is "who".
If it were a true Christian that ran over someones dog, he would "care".
You see a [true] Chrisitian, "who cares"...would do everything he could to repair the situation and his error.... Except forgive himself!
So in actuality... THE MESSAGE is to forgive yourself, because God forgives you.
To believe that God forgives someone who doesn't care in their hearts is just dumb! And it gives God no credit at all for being able to see into that persons heart!
