I just don't get how you don't understand: you can believe or disbelieve just about anything. The only thing that makes one an atheist is his or her lack of a belief in deities.
Can I ask: how did you "decide" to be an atheist?
sorry i just don't understand these things.
I'm 24, I was a christian since 16, after highschool i went to airforce but got discharged after getting brain damage during deployment...since then my life kinda going down hill and now im at apoint where i feel like i just kinda give up in life and all my life people told me "god has a plan for u" and stuff so now i feel like its all BS
but i still WANT to believe that after i die, i will go to heaven and have a girlfriend. (obviously i can't have one here anymore :| ) even when i was a christian, i always said to myself, after i die, i will go to heaven and have girlfriend.
and yes, remember i said in other thread that i want to be an atheist and believe in heaven, but u and some other people put me down for it
I'm sorry if you think I was putting you down; it wasn't my intention. I think what you're referring to is when I asked how someone can choose to have belief.
I'm really sorry about your brain injury, and thank you for your service.
Can you understand the difference between believing something and wanting something to be true? Also, can I ask: why do you think you "obviously" can't have a girlfriend?
