This is why I left the Catholic church. I couldn't find any logic in it, or Christianity in general. I think what really cemented it for me was reading the gospels and realizing that Jesus predicted his return and the end of the world during the lives of those he was speaking to. So obviously he was wrong about that since 2000 years later we're still here.
The thing which clinched it is thinking if the bible is wrong about that (as well as many, many other things) then why follow anything in it?
