Even if it meant that they were to lie about what they saw? Isn't that brainwashing? In truth They died because their understanding of life and what lies beyond exceeds your own. Not because they were told. It was because they witnessed and followed God the Son while He was on Earth.

Put yourself in their position. If you truly spent 3 years with God the Son and witnessed everything they did, and were even given the ablity to perform miricals yourself, would you deny Jesus just because your life was threatened?

Being 'brainwashed' by the truth of what you see and experienced is not brain washing. 'Brainwashing' would be to conform to the authorities wishes and deny what they saw. Because they were not 'brainwashed' they proclaimed the truth as they saw it even unto death!
