One of the reasons theism worldwide is numerically growing more rapidly than atheism, is because the fastest growing religions and denominations generally dont inter-marry with atheists.
And in parts of the (secular Western) world where atheism is growing, birth rates are not keeping up with those where theism is growing. (The birth control pill is like cyanide for atheism.)

So if atheists keep themselves apart from theists and vice versa, it's not looking good for Team Atheism.

Actually birthrates in most westernised and European nations are dropping whatever the religious belief, of lack thereof, of the citizens. It comes from better standards of living and the fact that people no longer need to breed like rabbits.

THe populations of those nations are only truly sustained through immigration - and a good portion of those immigrants are from extremely religious parts of the world - middle-east, Central and South America, North Africa, etc.

And even many of those immigrants are losing their religion quickly.
