You are completely at the grasp of your ego, can't you see that only the ego would defend its right to be miserable?
Isn't it possible to see that you are completely at the mercy of the external world. I say something you disagree with and and you get angry, it's conditioning, what is the benefit to you to let the external world effect your inner state? The world is always changing and so your state is always at the mercy of an unpredictable world. Can't you see that there's another way? Or is your ego so strongly rooted that this isn't something it would consider. Instead, it defends it's state as if there couldn't possibly be another way, defending it's misery.
