The computer dissipates the heat better if you put heat sinking paste on the top of the processor before assembling the heat sink. They are sold in small tooth-paste like containers.
Also, do not work the hardware with the computer on, and use an anti-static bracelet to protect against discharges. Not to you, but its to avoid damage to the machine.
I have actually fixed machines that had a static buildup on them, the best way to deal with this, is to purge the CMOS via the proper jumper pins.
