Why paganism?
Sorry, I missed this one earlier.
Well, growing up my father would drag us to church every Sunday, and I honestly couldn't see the point in it. I reasoned that if God created the Earth in the first place, then why was the Earth itself not good enough? Why did churches even have to be created by man when we were upon a creation of God's itself? Wasn't the Earth enough of a temple?
I very briefly went through the whole teenage I-worship-Satan stage when I got disillusioned with the whole deal. This stage only lasted a few months before a friend found a book on Witchcraft and Paganism and it instantly clicked with me and my worldview.
My sister and mom knew early on, but my father didn't know until I was in my 20s. I was scared to tell him because he is very religious. He even went to college in his younger years with the goal of becoming a Catholic priest (thank goodness he met his first wife before he could go through with THAT plan), but thankfully he didn't take it bad. Strangely enough, at first he thought the word "pagan" meant "atheist" and WAS upset with me, until I told him that pagans (for the most part) believe in MULTIPLE deities. Then his response was, "Oh. Well, as long as you believe in SOMETHING." *eyeroll*
