God is usually defined as completely and truly self sufficient meaning that he's without need. If that's so, why'd he create anything?
When we do anything, it's because we have some sort of need. Doing that action fulfills that need. God creating something means that him existing by himself was not suffient i.e. he failed at being self suffient.
