If you believe that the serpent in Eden was Satan, he told Eve that eating the fruit would make her more like Yahweh, and she wouldn't die like Yahweh said they would. She eats the fruit, becomes more self aware, and after getting kicked out they live for 900+ years. We can be certain that Adam and Eve weren't meant to be immortal, since there was a separate tree in the garden for that and I can't imagine an immortal being created with the ability to bear young. If you find our current population huge, just imagine what it would be if no one died.
Satan tempts Jesus by offering him the kingdoms of the world, which apparently he does have the power to give.
Satan seems to be the resident butt monkey of the religion. A scapegoat used to make Yahweh look better, even though christians will still sometimes say that hurricanes and stuff were sent by Yahweh as punishment. Satan is stated as evil. Is he really shown to be evil?
Genesis 3. He lied to Eve about the fruit. He lied to Christ throughout the 40 days he spent in the desert.
