Pathetic, no one says Christ was born at Christmas, the star you speak of was not seen by the shepherds the night Jesus was born, one good reason is because it hadn't appeared yet. The wise men could very well have visited Jesus on Dec. 25th that would be over a year later. Now as for sheep being outside in the winter especially in a climate that does not see much cold weather, the sheep around here stay outside all winter and we have some cold weather. Guess you forgot they grow their own coats, what do the people in you area do with their sheep in the winter, bring them in the house and put them in a warm bed.
