The problem with the "responsible gun owner" shit is that you can be "responsible" almost all the time and still end up with a dead body in your living room. One can only be certified a fully "responsible" gun owner at the time of death at which point it really doesn't matter what you do anymore because you are dead.
30 people per day died in the US in 2013 because of guns. In December of 2013 that would mean 930 bodies. In that same month Iraq had 759 killed and they are in the middle of a civil war.
Is that your idea of "normal?"
