But I never said PC gamers didn't have to have knowledge in PC building in order to score the cheaper yet more powerful setups.

It's not as easy as just handing back your console and waiting for a new one sure... but therein lies the trade off. In the end, I can fix/replace any individual part as well as upgrade. But console gamers? Nope! They've got to buy a new console.

This was actually not intentional... I missed it entirely. There's a few console exclusives out there, but most games do make it to PC. I can assure you however that there are a ton more PC "exclusives" vs Console exclusives.
Quote:Some mods are, some mods aren't. I've modded quite a few games now, and the main issue is compatibility with other mods. This can be not only time consuming to sort out but just generally a pain in the ass. Overall I'm just not that fussed about mods.
Eh, some people have fun with mods... but you'd be pretty hard pressed to not eventually come across mods that don't work with eachother. I don't mod personally, but I do see the fun in doing it at least.
Quote:Field of view, fair point. Overall quality? Debatable. Entirely dependent on what you consider to be quality and if it's graphics, most console gamers I know wouldn't really care. I also wouldn't say it helps immersiveness to have 3 separate screens.
There is no "what I consider to be quality".
Have you ever triple screen gamed? It's whole nature is to be immersive. Center screen plus left+right gives you added peripheral vision and greater field of view. I'm not sure what else could be more immersive!
Quote:Again, I never mentioned accuracy. I have no qualms saying a mouse is more accurate than a joypad. But if you think that's going to make me say a mouse is better for gaming then you're completely missing the point.
Okay, sure. Some game types do have a better feel on a controller. But that's why USB controllers exist (which btw you can use an xbox360 or PS3 controller on PC all the same).
In the end, consoles are cheaply made computers with no expand-ability. They are completely locked down and are unable to do anything outside of what the console maker wants you to do.
Consoles are outdated almost immediately and will stay that way until a new console is made. Consoles do not provide the option to use K+B on 99% of the games out there.
PC game prices are almost universally cheaper and are almost always having a sale... my god the shit you can buy on Steam.
On top of this, I can emulate virtually any console Xbox360 or older I want and plug in a controller... and bam, console gaming! Course I'm not too sure why you'd want to emulate Xbox 360 when almost every game is available for PC lol.
