They too can be addictive, yet they do not produce the artifcial dopamine and endorphine secretion as drugs do.
Nuh-uh-uhhh. Weed does not produce artificial dopamine or endorphins, though it does, with chronic use, lower the levels of dopamine in the brain, though these return to normal levels within weeks after taking a break and then take months of chronic use to go back to lowered levels. As for the other drugs, you are incorrect. They do not produce "artificial" dopamine and/or endorphins; most of the time, they simply alter the ways in which your brain handles the delivery, production, and reception in different regions of it, to varying extents. This is simply a more direct form of manipulating brain chemistry; we take the more roundabout methods with games, sex, TV, sports, but sometimes you just don't want to waste the time, so we drink, or we smoke, or we turn to more extreme measures, for any number of reasons. But, yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. I'm sure amongst the Turkish Master Race the idea of artificial escapes never even chances to enter their refined, superior brains, and they will dominate the west when they unify because we will all be too high or something.
