Over and over throughout our history, we have filled the gaps in our knowledge of the world and of the universe. To date, none of those gaps have been filled by god. God is nothing more than a placeholder until we find out what's really happening.
Everyone can enjoy certain kinds of fiction. But you shouldn't and won't get credit for peddling fiction under the guise of scientific respectability.
