Can Science and religion co-exist?

I see no reason to begrudge theists their beliefs or to argue that those can't coexist with science.

I don't like to give them an inch.

But then you've always been much more conscientious about keeping the shit that gets left all over the forums here to a minimum. I've been willing to put on my waders and go out pretty deep into some of that shit, but I think my tolerance is wearing thin.
