Not all Christians (including myself) believe in eternal torment. The Bible says the wages of sin is death. Thus the unsaved will be cast into the lake of fire to be destroyed, not eternally tormented.

Only the righteous will have immortal souls. Eternal life is a gift from God. Those who refuse will have eternal death. What happens between physical death and the final Judgment is open for speculation. Some believe reincarnation occurs until then. According to this, each person will have a life review (not the Last Judgment) after death to determine karma for the next inarnation.

So what you are saying is people will be reincarnated over and over until God can decide whether they have lived a good enough life or not?

I accept reincarnation as a possibilty. Even in the story about the "Wrath of God" I made in another thread, I believe the punishment in that case may have only been physical death, he may have been back since then. Only God knows when the last incarnation of a person will be.
