Like watching an ant farm...or a dog chase its tail. You wonder for a moment what the point is? Then... you dismiss it as just..... eh.... illogical.
What I find interesting, and more than a little depressing, about this whole thread is the human tendency to find satisfaction in what we perceive as the inadequacy of others. We all do it, myself not least. But it is not very healthy.
If ones finds someone else who is shorter, or uglier, or less healthy, or poorer, we don't derive any satisfaction or amusement from pointing that out. But apparently we do when considering people who hold incorrect views. Rondee just mirrored the exact same condescending attitude back. "christians are illogical." "No, atheists are illogical!", "no CHRISTIANS are illogical".
If "christian logic" is wrong. I can think of two reasons.
1. Christians have drawn different conclusions because they have different inormation at hand.
2. Christians ain't too bright.
Either way, big wup. If they DO represent a less intelligent, educated or enlightened mindset then that sucks for them. But I see no reason for amusement or satisfaction from the "more enlightened" group. Possibly, if it could be done without arrogance, pity would be the more appropriate view. As one might hold for someone with stockholm syndrome.
Failing that, here's a fun idea for a thread. We could have one on "depressed peoples logic". Or even "mentally ill peoples logic". Have a nice circle jerk over how those groups do dumb or crazy stuff! Glad we're not like them, hey? They can't see light at the end of the tunnel! They think that things can't improve from how they feel now, because they can't see that their conclusions are being affected by fucked up brain chemistry. Pffft.
Anyway. Carry on.
