Quran was not revealed to Prophet in a Book format. It was recited to him.It was also not revealed all at once.It was revealed in a period of about 23 years in the Islamic month of Ramadan.
Quran was written down, though. If all written copies of Quran disappeared along with every other holy scripture, how would it be brought back? Are you saying there are people who know it by heart so they could write it down again or it would be recited to someone again?
What happened to the very first manuscript where it was written down? I've been googling for the earliest manuscript in existence and found this - Sana'a manuscript
Quote:The Sana'a palimpsest is one of the oldest Qur'anic manuscripts in existence.[1] It was found, along with many other Qur'anic and non-Qur'anic fragments, in Yemen in 1972 during restoration of the Great Mosque of Sana'a. The manuscript is written on parchment, and comprises two layers of text (see palimpsest). The upper text conforms to the standard 'Uthmanic Qur'an, whereas the lower text contains many variants to the standard text. An edition of the lower text was published in 2012.[1] A radiocarbon analysis has dated the parchment containing the lower text to before 671 AD with a 99% accuracy
Palimpsest
Quote:A palimpsest /ˈpælɪmpsɛst/ is a manuscript page from a scroll or book from which the text has been scraped or washed off so that it can be used again.
It's all a bit of a mystery, though, as the Media Controversy indicates.
I've been trying to find out more but, so far, haven't come across anything really informative.
