I once handed in a one page paper, printed single sided on 8.5"x11 paper, triple space, 18 point font, 2 inch margins all around. I got a decent grade because the professor thought it was succinct and ballsy.
I have to say the content of my paper wasn't less than many others with 40 double sided pages, 10 point font, 1 inch margins.
I once turned in a paper which had a strict 5 page limit on which I numbered the sixth page 5.5. He appreciated the humor since he liked the paper and there really wasn't much I could've done to shorten the paper without significant loss.
