I know that religious people can be smart.Well I can tell you for instance, that here in Australia the Anglican church does more non profit charitable work in the community than any other NPO including all other churches, including the Catholic Church which is larger, including churches like Salvation Army that have community work as a core value.
Does the idea of that bewilder you, or does it sound like a positive thing? There's a member of my church who, years ago now, used to home the homeless in his own home (with his deceased wife and while their own children still lived at home). That's a level of generosity that amazes me. I mean I also know of others who've run homeless shelters, but to do it in your own home is incredible.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
