And it is contradicting, because Jesus says all sins can be forgiven. However, there is a difference between a sinner being forgiven and one who is without sin, committing so great a sin.
Jesus says it would be better for them to not have been born, than to do this. Once having known truth, to turn and err against the Holy spirit, is unforgivable. And having known God, I cannot even fathom anyone wanting to do that because through the holy spirit is our direct communication with God. And there is nothing greater in this world than that, to know Him and to love Him in an intimate way. so this a very select and grievous sin I believe.
