Actually what you've got here Napo is a couple of grey beards trying to explain to the children that they would be a lot better off skipping the cheap sweet stuff and going to directly to a chilled straight alcohol that has been distilled multiple times and filtered to remove the impurities. Chances are you are get to there eventually anyway so you might as well get right to the good stuff.
Yeah, I can respect that. But seen as the guy is the same age as me, I expect he lives on a budget like I do. I'm used to getting wasted off of very little money, I do it pretty much every week when I'm at uni. I was with a friend at a nightclub and we tried getting some vodka. Barman said they only serve grey goose. IT WAS 4 QUID A FUCKING SHOT. We had absinthe instead for half the price.
To me if you're drinking something like vodka or whiskey, the brand really doesn't matter all that much unless you have the money to care about such things.
What do they ask for Jaeger bombs over there? Over here, I would not call that a cheap drunk - even if you make 'em at home. 8oz can of red bull is like two and a half bucks, and 750ml of Jaeger is almost thirty. You can get a very passable whiskey for less, and it's 80 proof to boot.
Best part about quality hooch: fewer hangovers.
If I was going to go for cheap and sweet, I'd get me a bottle of affordable vodka and mix it with whatever juice is handy - orange, grapefruit, cranberry, pineapple - and pour over ice. Or get limes or lemons and some sugar and make kamikazes or lemon drops.
Or make a yucca (get a gallon sun tea jar, fill with ice and sliced citrus fruit, add a cup of sugar, top up with vodka. Wrap it with a towel and shake it for no less than 30 minutes. You'll need help with that. Open it up and pass it around.)
