Personally, I've stopped buying FPS games. Innovation? What's that?
I still play a few older titles now and then for nostalgia, but I've largely moved on from the genre.
Frankly, most MMORPGs suffer from the same lack of innovation as well.
The gaming industry is at a state where I will almost never pay full price for a game. I can think of one in the last 10 years. Everything else I've bought from Steam sales. That overhyped game that wasn't worth the $60 it cost new looks a lot better when it's under ten bucks.
