Most critic reviews give it perfect scores. The game has so many issues that it simply doesn't deserve the praise. Other Elder Scrolls games had the same kinds of issues but I felt their world and the questlines in Morrowind and Oblivion were actually a lot more fun than Skyrim. I may not have put as many hours into the other games but I can sure say I enjoyed the fewer hours more
Skyrim definitely isn't perfect, and certainly doesn't deserve a perfect rating. As of today, I've logged 668 hours in it - and so in terms of bang for the buck, it certainly has delivered. Even with the game and DLC purchased at full price, it's still under 20 cents an hour.
So I suppose I agree - it doesn't live up to a perfect rating. But it is very much worth the purchase price.
