RE: Being a porn actor is considered a profession?

If a profession is something that requires learning or special training then no, being a porn actor is not a profession.
I think I watched a documentary once where all a guy had to do was fill in some forms, get STD tested and have a photo of himself taken.
I'm not saying porn actors or actresses are stupid, but as far as I know I think it's pretty much a fact you do not need to be professionally trained to act in porn.
In fact some porn sites pride themselves in hiring new actresses who have never had any porn experience before and sometimes it's obviously a marketing tactic other times it seems like the actresses are genuinely new to making porn.
