When you're making a comparative statement, you're best served by completing the comparison.
I knew we are smarter, anyone who could not understand the comparison is not smarter than a rock, slug or tomato.
Merely changing the language does nothing to correct the syntax. Smarter than what? Or who? I really hate it when people don't complete comparatives. I think know what you mean, but to avoid ambiguity as well as accusations of my putting words into your mouse, please stop talking in riddles and say what you mean.
