I've got a slightly different outlook:

I too say "wow" when I contemplate the amazing universe, but the wow-factor kicks-in without me having to consider a "deeper reality". I am not going to say that I don't know how the universe works and then immediately contradict myself by saying that therefore I do know the universe is governed by an "ultimate reality". In fact I think my sense of wonder is heightened by the realisation that I don't know what is going on behind the scenes.
