Whosoever would defend such a thing, really. I don't really care about denominations, just whether or not your first instinct would be to attempt to excuse or downplay what happened here.

I think you would find that your only beef here is with the Catholic church, since the protestant churches formed in "protest" of the Catholics.

Even they had the good sense to see that Catholicism was evil.

Protestants rape an equal number of children annually to Catholics, and in some cases, out child-rape them.

And yet omnipotent, omniscient God just plain forgot to add the following commandments that would save billions from unnecessary suffering:

Additionally, God made sure to inform everyone that shellfish and homosexuals were "an abomination," but the rampant future childhood sexual abuse by clergy and religions families.

But brothers raping their sisters and fathers raping their daughters multiple times a week for years on end? No problem.



I tell you what. If there is an afterlife, based only cursorily on what female friends have told me about past trauma, that 1 in 5 women has been sexually molested by a family friend or member, the number of religious people granted a parson for religious belief and confession far exceeds the number of religious people who thoroughly wrent a woman's development in her prepubescent and mid puberty years.

Given an eternal afterlife where death and dependency of children on fathers and brothers no longer exist, and emotional ties are severed, there are a lot of motherfuckers out there who had better start running right now, because my wrath over an eternity in either heaven or hell will far exceed any afterlife punishment you can envision.
