Very true. Most of the Middle East is just a bunch of sand with oil.

I would love to visit some areas of the Middle East for the archaeology, the history, and the ruins.

Unfortunately I'm unlikely to ever visit because of the politics and religion of the region. Even my planned trip to Egypt and Turkey has been put on hold.
