Afghanistan has many Greek and Roman Ruins from the times of the Roman Empire and Alexander the Great.

I've flew many times over some, but it is too dangerous to explore. Russians land mines still plague the place.

Also, since it is not in the Quran, Muslims are destroying them.

Pretty much what's happening in Iran as well.

I understand they refused to protect the tomb of Cyrus the Great, too.

And Saudi Arabia is full of ruins that they refuse to acknowledge, including many from the civilisazion that built Petra in Jordan. No doubt many of those have been looted and destroyed, too.
