I agree that it isn't just black and white, but the fact is the US has had school shootings since they've had guns, which is, in terms of US history, forever.

We need to look at the rate at which these are happening.
I thought to check Wikipedia for stats. While it demonstrates that the rate is increasing, it also lists shootings that aren't actually 'school shootings'.
