Boy, did you get this one wrong. He was saying it would be better for the person doing the leading for that to happen to him than for him to mislead people. He never suggested we do that to anyone.

Well maybe he should have clarified that, because it sounded like he was suggesting it. Maybe not making it a strict commandment, but saying he'd be ok with it if it did happen. It's not like he said it would be better for them to die. He gave a specific form of death to be carried out.

You're right in that it's been used as an excuse, but those who do that are not following Christ. It they did follow him they wouldn't do those things. If an atheist is told not hate others and then he does, is it the fault of atheism?

Atheism does not have a book that says slaves obey your masters, no matter how cruel, or women obey your husbands and be quiet in church.

I would assume that if there was any word in the bible that your god disapproved of, he would have it removed. Therefore if it hasn't been removed, he must be ok with it.
